Ben is told that a nickname he’s always used for a particular species of mud-like alien shapeshifters is considered offensive by them.

He responds to this criticism in the most unexpectedly mature way possible: a genuine apology and immediately dropping the use of the offensive word.

Ben 10 as a character is normally immature even by 16-year-old standards, but even he knows that derogatory racial slurs aren’t okay.

like sirs and ma’ams i hate to break it you but y’all are not martyrs suffering for the greater good. you’re pushy strangers who show up at people’s houses uninvited to tell them about a religion they’re most likely not interested in and you get bonus asshole points for thinking it’s acceptable to preach for homophobic/transphobic organizations on the doorsteps of random lgbt ppl. ppl not being happy to see you isn’t an attack against you it’s you experiencing normal consequences for being rude.

You’re right. We’re grappling with centuries of being racially terrorized , internalized racism, misogynoir, colorism, Ankhs/Hoteps spreading  misogynoiristic and homophobic falsehoods as gospel truth to make up for the disconnect to our ancestry, seeking white approval at our own detriment,  Xenophobia towards foreign black people, Africans vs Caribbean vs African Americans and so on. We need therapy asap.

  • Consider learning a foreign language. Spanish, German, Mandarin, French and Arabic are great places to start!
  • I stole this from Nike but “Believe in Something”. Really. Believe in hope. Believe in Magic. Believe in a higher power/source. Believe in a code. Believe in yourself.
  • Prioritize quantitative and continuous learning.
  • Amplify your skill set especially if you are in an industry that is evolving.
  • Embrace etiquette, social graces & kindness. “Please” “Thank you” “Good Morning” is effective and gracious, it is not old fashioned, frou frou or fake. 
  • Stop being a reprehensible bully. Stop mocking people’s appearances. Stop sharing content with the intent of embarrassing others. Stop the repugnant mob mentality. Some of you are stuck in misery because you are too bad mind!
  • Likewise, learning how to defend yourself is a crucial life skill. 
  • Fitness is indispensable. Fitness not only improves your appearance, it is a great friend to your emotional & mental health. Fitness is so much more multidisciplinary than the gym. It can include your diet, Martial Arts, Tennis, Hiking, Horse riding, Swimming, Dancing & Yoga.
  • Stay cognizant of current news especially pertaining to your industry & lifestyle. How will it affect you and your family?
  • Being passive is not helping you. You have to show more aggression & discipline when it comes to your goals.
  • Save money even if it is $5 a week. Even the “tiniest’ of amounts can be the difference between a hot emergency meal & a cold one.
  • Insist on having more fun in life. Welcome more comedy, laughter, playfulness and responsible hedonism!
